SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a mid-sized Maori business chartered accountancy and professional services firm operating out of Rotorua and servicing clients within the Central North Island rohe and beyond. They provide a full range of accounting, secretarial, management, consulting and share register services for their clients.

Their clients comprise mainly Maori trusts, incorporations, treaty settlement entities, Maori small and medium enterprises and non-government organisations.

They are looking for a person who share their values and are committed to helping Maori business succeed.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • CA Qualified with business advisory experience
  • Share a passion and commitment to Maori business development ? commercial awareness and high standards of professionalism
  • Governance experience. You will be adept in the board room with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Confident both in the client facing, consultancy arena combined with strong systems and processes
  • Thrive on building trusted relationships with existing clients, their team and other stakeholders
  • Essential is the value of te reo Maori with moderate speaking ability and experience working within a kaupapa Maori framework

The tasks will be varied and will include management reports and financial reviews meeting tight deadlines.

TAX CONSULTANT

Our client is a highly respected professional services consulting firm based in Wellington who are passionate about the success of both their clients and the future of New Zealand. As such, an opportunity has arisen for a newly qualified, ambitious individual who has a couple years’ experience post qualification and who has a passion for the Maori business sector.

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and understanding of Maori business practices
  • The drive to support successful outcomes for Iwi, Hapū and Whānau.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • High level analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues.
  • Strong technical capability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of providing tax advice to Māori or charitable organisations will be an advantage as would an understanding and appreciation of te reo and tikanga Māori.
