At present, they have a need for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to help drive financial and operational performance of their Prepared Foods site based in Palmerston North. This is a very diverse and busy role that will suit someone who enjoys immersing themselves within an organisation to understand its intricacies and ultimately being able to see the result of their work.

With a dual reporting line to the General Manager in Palmerston North and the CFO in Auckland,  the primary responsibility of the role is to help drive the financial and operational performance of the site.

Given this, your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide financial leadership the business unit partnering with Operations to help drive decision making at an operational level.
  • Business and strategic financial planning including the forecasting and budgeting.
  • Responsible for the financial results including the monthly profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Provide financial insight into customer and contract performance, product profitability, KPI’s, and investment and new business opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain effective financial internal control systems and policies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • New ERP systems implementation (Dynamix).

To be considered for this role, you will need the following:

  • Experience working within a manufacturing organisation supporting a GM or leadership team, whereby you understand operational and manufacturing processes.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis and reporting experience.
  • Exposure to tax.
  • Developing policies and internal controls.
  • Significant Financial Systems and/or ERP systems implementation experience.
  • Working with and the development of product costing systems.
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and lead a team of professionals.
  • Experience in developing integrated business and accounting systems, information systems, particularly inventory, to support the business.

What is essential, is your ability to communicate and partner with senior leaders - both on financial and non-financial information - as you will have exposure to numerous senior stakeholders within the business. You will be CA/CPA qualified and have strong financial modelling skills. You will also be analytically minded and results oriented.
